Mission 2009 Overview

The slide show below is a composite of the areas we visited this year: Dobrich & Sofia, Bulgaria and Athens, Greece. In Dobrich we visited the orphanages; in Sofia and Athens we ministered in the arts. Our team of professional Christian artists teach youth how to communicate the Gospel through the arts.

Youth Revival in Porto Astro

Below are photos from the revival going on in Greece. These scenes may look familiar to U.S. Christians, but this worship and freedom to proclaim Jesus Christ was nonexistent in Greece. God bless all the people who sowed into Greece all these years because we are reaping now!!!

Nikki & Andrew at Porto Astro

Divine Appointment

When Pastor Gail Stathis prepared her message on how God wants to change us on the inside, she had no idea that Andrew intended to share Hillsong's "From the Inside Out" (translated by Jessie Panagiotou); below is clip of the passionate time of worship and prayer at the end of the service.

Revival In Greece!!

We were priviledged to participate in unprecedented revival in Greece. On a property by the sea, Hellenic Ministries has made a Christian Retreat called Porto Astro. It is open to refugees and youth (not at the same time). The spiritual oppression that prevented people from being saved has lifted from the country. Many are hearing the truth of the Gospel for the first time and being saved. In the photos and clip below, you are seeing a youth camp for teenagers. During the day there are Bible Studies, Workshops, and Sports. At night, there is radical worship and a message. The messages are highly anointed and many come to the Lord. In the video below, a spontaneous party breaks out after about 30 youth come to the Lord.

Artists on a Mission

Professionally trained artists gave their time to instruct the aspiring artists of the Freedom Generation youth group in Sofia, Bulgaria. Eric instructed the youth in the media arts; in four days of intense training, they learned the basic elements used in rendering, fashion design, and animation techniques. Andrew led the worship services in the evenings and gave instruction in guitar. One of the sessions included practicing their lessons in the park (along with some frisbie playing).

Dobrich, Bulgaria

Krasi, one of the team members, translated two songs into Bulgarian for Andrew. Below he sings You Are God, by Charlie Hall, in Bulgarian with the Church's band.

Three Pages of New Posts

Here are some photos and videos from our trip to the orphanages. About three pages worth, so keep scrolling and viewing older posts to see them all. We would love to read your comments if you could take a moment to give us feedback :) Love you all!

Accountability

For Those of You Who Give . . .

Evelyn is the Director of the orphanage in Ovcharovo, an orphanage of approximately 40 children. In the video below, she explains how the children benefit from your donations.

Legos Debut

When we first introduced the Legos, the children had no clue what they were, and my demonstration didn't help either. Finally, while cupping one of the boy's hands in my own, I took him through the motion of picking up a Lego and snapping it onto another. That worked! Soon all the kids were making their own creations! Then we went to play ball with another room of children, but they were more interested in touching us and sitting on our lap than playing any games. So, we spent the whole time just hugging the children and telling them that God loved them.

What We're Doing

Working along side local churches, we provide artistic performances and instruction to youth groups in Bulgaria and Greece. In Dobrich, Bulgaria, we also provide food and supplies to the orphanages which serve that region. 100% of public donations go to these orphanages, and your support has greatly improved the children's quality of life.

Benefit Concert

The videos below are from the June 13th Benefit, A Night of Creativity, hosted by Eric and Denise Young at Shepherd's Heart Ministries. Alexander Charos, Bruce Blowers, Brianne Blowers, Andrew Brooks, and Amelia Sage inspired us as they performed music and dance. Eric Fessell instructed us in media arts (not shown here). We were fired and stirred up in our gifts; one young lady broke out in some spontaneous sketching during the program. Very inspirational session and great fundraiser! Lets get together again! Thank you everyone!
